What our research covers
InchHarbor is an independent kitchen-fit resource. The current work consists of manufacturer-specification research, original measurement guides and browser-based calculations. No product in this site has been physically tested by us.
Three evidence labels
- Manufacturer-stated: a dimension or instruction published by the product maker, linked to the exact model where possible.
- Calculated: arithmetic performed on those dimensions and the shopper's inputs. A calculated match is not a measured installation.
- Unknown or provisional: an unlabeled axis, accessory reach, loaded height or other detail not supported by the source. Missing values stay missing.
How the tools decide
The current tools add twice the selected per-face margin to each outside dimension, then compare the resulting envelope with available width, depth and height. Width and depth are also checked after a 90-degree rotation. Height is not rotated. This is a conservative rectangular screen, not a model of shelves, curved objects, drains or installation paths.
The default half-inch margin is a user-editable planning allowance. It is not a universal safety clearance. Heated appliances require the manufacturer's placement and ventilation instructions, including any different requirements on different sides. The tools cannot certify appliance safety.
Selection and editorial limits
The five-rack catalogue is a small starting sample selected because maker dimensions were accessible. It is not the whole market and contains no “best overall” winner. Results list dimensional matches first and then sort names alphabetically, rather than ranking by commission or performance. We do not copy customer ratings into our own testing scores.
AI-assisted drafting and coding are part of this project's workflow. The useful evidence is the linked source and reproducible calculation, not a claim of personal ownership. If we add physical testing, the page will identify the sample, date, method and observations separately.
Photography and image credits
The homepage uses licensed photographs of example kitchens and products. They do not identify the models in our comparison, show products we have tested, or demonstrate recommended appliance clearances. The original measurement diagrams illustrate the calculations and are not photographs of tested installations.

Updates and corrections
Check the date beside each product-source list. Before publishing or monetizing a recommendation, recheck the exact variant, dimensions and link. A changed specification must be updated in the catalogue, relevant articles and calculation tests together. Report a changed specification through our contact page.
